Camp on the riverbank where the Great Migration crosses. The most dramatic wildlife spectacle on Earth, just steps from your tent.
Kogatende, Northern Serengeti, on the Mara River
July – October (river crossings)
8 spacious luxury tents with private balconies
Kogatende Airstrip, or road transfer from Seronera
Untamed Migration Camp Kogatende is our northernmost camp, perched close to the Mara River — the single most dramatic stage of the Great Migration. Between July and October, up to two million wildebeest and zebra funnel through this corridor, plunging into crocodile-filled waters in one of nature’s most breathtaking and chaotic displays of survival.
Being just 30 minutes from the main crossing points means you spend more time watching wildlife and less time in the vehicle. Our experienced guides know the herds’ movement patterns and radio network intimately, helping you be in the right place at the right moment, time and time again.
Each of our 8 tents at Kogatende features an en-suite bathroom, a private furnished balcony, and large canvas windows that frame uninterrupted views over the river valley. Fall asleep to the grunts of hippos and wake to birdsong and the distant rumble of the migrating herds

Full-day game drives positioned at known crossing points, with picnic lunch on the riverbank while herds gather.
Explore on foot with an armed ranger, tracking smaller wildlife and learning about the riverine ecosystem.
Evening drinks overlooking the Mara valley as the sky turns gold and hippos grunt below.
